Strengthening Health Research for Public Health: Belli Advisory Supports RHSP Strategy

To achieve its mandate of providing health services to improve public health and inform policy through conducting innovative and relevant health research in infectious diseases, communicable and non-communicable diseases, RHSP contracted Belli Advisory to facilitate the development of a five-year strategic plan for the period of 2022 to 2026. Rakai Health Science Program (RHSP) has over 30 years of experience, resources, and infrastructure in the research of infectious diseases with a strong bias toward HIV. It is one of the longest-running cohort-based research programs in the world with thousands of citations and high-impact research that has guided public health policy and HIV treatment and care. Changes in health research and the emergence of new health threats like COVID-19 necessitate the program to put in place guiding pillars. A robust strategy will see the organization remain relevant to the community it serves and the population at large.
